Stio Listen Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 15, 2026

Overview

This policy explains how Stio (“Stio,” “we,” “us”) handles information when you use the Stio Listen mobile app, website, and support channels. The app does not require an account to begin listening and does not request access to your microphone, camera, contacts, or precise location.

Information stored on your device

Playback position, playback speed, language, continuous-play preference, sleep timer state, daily free-listening usage, and reward eligibility are stored locally. This information generally remains on your device unless you clear app data or remove the app.

Purchases and subscriptions

Apple App Store or Google Play processes payment. RevenueCat helps us retrieve products and determine whether the anonymous app user is entitled to Premium. We may receive product identifiers, purchase and renewal status, country or storefront, and an app-scoped identifier. We do not receive your full card number or store password.

Advertising

Free listeners may choose to view a Google Mobile Ads rewarded ad for additional listening time. Depending on your region, device settings, and consent choices, Google may process IP address, device or advertising identifiers, coarse location inferred from IP, ad interactions, and diagnostics. The app requests consent where required and provides an in-app link to revisit ad privacy choices when the platform makes that option available. Premium listeners are not asked to view rewarded ads.

Product analytics

Anonymous product analytics is enabled by default. It uses an app-generated identifier, app version, platform, language, story identifier, and product events such as play, pause, completion, paywall view, purchase outcome, or rewarded-ad outcome. We do not include story audio, support messages, payment details, precise location, or your name in product analytics. You can turn analytics off at any time in Settings; doing so clears events waiting on the device.

Support communications

If you contact support, we process your email address and the information you send, such as device details, issue descriptions, and attachments. We use it to respond, prevent abuse, and improve reliability.

How we use and share information

We use information to deliver audio, remember preferences, verify Premium access, provide optional rewards, measure reliability and conversion, comply with law, and protect the service. We share only what is needed with hosting and content-delivery providers, Apple or Google, RevenueCat, Google Mobile Ads, our configured analytics processor, and professional advisers or authorities when legally required.

US state privacy notice

Depending on state law, identifiers and app activity used for personalized advertising may be considered “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not sell personal information for money. You can use in-app ad privacy choices and device-level advertising controls to opt out where available. We do not use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics. You may request access, correction, deletion, or appeal by contacting us; we will verify and respond as applicable.

Retention, security, and transfers

Queued analytics events are bounded on-device and removed after successful delivery or when analytics is disabled. Service providers retain subscription, advertising, analytics, and diagnostic records under their settings and legal obligations. Support records are kept only as long as needed for the request, security, and legal requirements. We use reasonable safeguards, but no system is completely secure. Information may be processed in the United States and other countries where our providers operate.

Children

Stio Listen is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child provided information, contact us so we can investigate and delete it where required.

Your choices and contact

You can turn off product analytics, review available ad privacy choices, limit advertising identifiers in device settings, cancel a subscription in your store account, and remove local app data by clearing or uninstalling the app. For privacy requests, email privacy@stio.ai. For general support, email support@stio.ai.
